Yvie Oddly– Odd by name Odd by nature– this look is no exception to her oddities. I find this look odd in such an un-odd way. When you simply gaze at this picture and move onto the next, like I did when I first saw the Season 11 Promo for Rupaul’s Drag Race, you don’t really notice it as odd, but when you look at each particular element, it becomes quite beautifully unusual.
This odd ensemble was only a peak of things to come for the most recent Drag Super Star and winner of Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 11! This look combines chic and street fashion to create a captivating look sold to the audience with a fierce pose. If you want to re-create this look yourself keep reading.
The Yvie Oddly Outfit
When I first saw this image, my eyes were immediately drawn to the yellow fur coating her arms. These cosy companions can be perfectly replicated with leg warmers, the furry type that reminds me of forest raves and neon nightclubs. When browsing around for a pair myself I found this Rainbow Neon pair that would look great and brighten up the look even more!

The next striking element of this look is those gorgeous blue boots. These platform boots remind me of the platform sneaker worn by the spice girls in their heyday and I will take any excuse to get a pair myself. Despite all my searching, I couldn’t find a similar pair, but I came up with some great alternatives.
Firstly, I found some lace up, chunky knee-high navy boots that would give the colour story a slightly darker tone, a good choice for those who aren’t so fond of Neon. If it’s the turquoise colour you’re looking for, I found two pair of shoes that match perfectly, some platform Kickers that will create a Spice Girl-esque appearance or some bright Wellies– Hear me out! These Wellington boots match the colour perfectly and are certainly more comfortable than some heels! Also, the wellies would make this a perfect festival look if you are the type of queen who not only wants to soak up the music, sun and mud but wants to look fabulous at the same time! If none of these options have tickled your fancy, then my last proposition is some classic white GoGo boots. These boots enforce with the light and bright colour scheme, keeping the neon theme intact!
The necklace wore by Yvie in this promo shoot is a really nice touch and enhances the colour story even further. It’s quite a unique item and I couldn’t seem to find a replica; however, I feel it would be an easy DIY project. Using some plastic yellow chain link, a clasp and some hot glue this necklace can be yours! You can buy some of the plastic chain links in bulk, use some for the necklace, and the rest could be used to make even more matching accessories!
Sometimes the elements we don’t notice go a long way and in this case its Yvie’s Mustard tights. Keeping with the colour scheme, these opaque yellow tights are subtle but impactful amongst the overall ensemble. I found some strikingly similar tights so you can create the same elusive effect.

Obviously, the main element of this look is the bright orange vinyl mini dress. I Love this vinyl centrepiece, it adds texture to the outfit and creates a sleek, edgy appearance. This colour compliments the yellow of the sleeve and tights beautifully and gives it some grounding. I found a similar dress that will look great when recreating this outfit
